Goal: Walking at a park for 60 minutes.
Status: Goal completed, but rules not complied.
Challenge: Gaining the habit of waking up at dawn.
The final battle. So of course, I had to blow it.
I am updating way past the 6:30 pm deadline, so I didn’t comply with the rules. On the crisp of triumph I failed. Naturally, I think of Napoleon. As I stated previously:
Waterloo will wipe out the memory of my forty victories; but that which nothing can wipe out is my Civil Code. That will live forever. (Attributed to Napoleon Bonaparte).
I lost the battle, but I won the war. What’s the result after 30 days? Not only was my crazy sleep schedule finally tamed. It’s interesting that I developed other habits. For example, I avoid the productivity and sleep destroyer distractions; I take power naps; I write. In essence, my productivity went up and I am definitely learning how to modify human behavior. The experiment worked. Pavlov’s dog dances.
